One of four young Ambassadors for Cruinniú na nÓg 2022, Letterkenny’s Faith-Leigh Bomah boasts creativity by the bucket-load!

This talented ten-year-old is never happier than when she’s immersed in two of her favourite creative hobbies: fashion design and upcycling!

“I feel happy and excited!”

Eco-conscious and super resourceful, future style star Faith-Leigh’s unique creations often feature fabric from clothes she’s grown out of. She even gifts some of her customised creations to her lucky friends.

As for how Faith-Leigh feels when she’s in a flurry of fashion designing fun? “I feel happy and excited!”

It’s not on the catwalks of Milan or Paris that Faith-Leigh finds her creative inspiration though – that source is much closer to home: “My creative hero is my auntie as she loves fashion and I can’t wait to borrow her clothes in the near future …”

“Creativity is how I express myself”

And don’t let her talent for textiles fool you into thinking that’s all she has up her very stylish sleeve: Faith-Leigh’s passions run the gamut from a budding piano practice to a penchant for singing and dancing – she’s even a fluent gaeilgeoir. Her beautiful Donegal Irish can be heard in a recent episode of TG4’s ‘Nuair a Bheidh Mé Mór’.

“Cruinniú na nÓg is a great way to encourage young people to show their talents, passions and creativity,” says the budding Donegal designer. “Creativity is how I express myself.”
