A Lifetime of Books with Writer Maeve A. Devoy

  • Workshop

As part of the Summer Stars 2021 launch at Laois Libraries, writer Maeve A. Devoy shares the books that she has loved and recommends for those looking for inspiration for this summer’s reading.

Tune in to this pre-recorded video as Maeve reveals the books of her childhood and why they are so important to her. This video is suitable for children age 4 to 11, and no booking is required. The video will be available on Laois Libraries Facebook and Laois County Library Service YouTube.

Maeve is best known for interviewing people from all walks, and all over Ireland. Her debut collection of short stories, ‘The Tell Tale Collection’, paints a picture of Irish society over 100 years. Currently writing her second collection of short stories while studying for a Research Masters in Literary Journalism at D.C.U., Maeve has been hosting creative writing and wellbeing workshops for children and teenagers. Homing in on imagination and creativity, Maeve delves into the importance of the children and teenagers using their own unique stories, experiences, and understanding within their writing, while discussing her own journey to publication.

So with a bit of belief, a sprinkle of imagination, any dream is just a magical balloon ride away!
