Come experience A Museum for Gulliver in the walled garden at the OPW/Pearse Museum, St Enda’s Park, Rathfarnham. Families can explore the artwork of children from South Dublin County, and also get their photos taken in a Lilliputian setting for a souvenir photo book (edited photos will be emailed to families after the event).
Inspired by Jonathan Swift’s ‘Gulliver’s Travels’, the Tallaght Community Arts’ artist team has been working with over 60 local children to develop giant maps of Lilliput, a Lilliputian-scale village, and an installation of images for this fun and creative museum experience. This work is taking place over the course of four workshops in which our young participants collaborate with Brian Crowley, curator of Kilmainham Gaol/Pearse Museum to discuss what makes a museum and the story behind objects displayed.
Booking is required for the photo booth. As this is a live outdoor exhibition, all Covid protocols will be adhered to. Audience members will be allowed to roam the walled garden to view the exhibition while adhering to protocols. If you’d rather view the work online, a film of the exhibition will be available here for Cruinniú.
