We are inviting young people aged 13–17 to join textile artist Lorraine Colleran at Art Flow Studio for this series of workshops.
Using fabric paint on cotton, participants will create their chosen image of Monaghan as well as adding extra designed detail by sewing beads onto the fabric.
The young people will capture the character of Monaghan through its rolling landscape and familiar drumlin scenery alongside its growing towns, villages and communities.
The work will capture the young artist’s visual representation of their hometown, through a mixture of mediums. They will either choose from selected images that best describe their hometown or they can source their own image for the project in week one.
The artwork will be completed over four weeks at one-hour group workshops each week, commencing Saturday 14 May at 1pm.
Participants must commit to attend all four Saturdays.
All materials provided.
Exhibition of work will be displayed on 11 June at Art Flow Studio.
These workshops are free but places are limited so booking is essential.
