Ar Muin Na Muice is a series of three stop motion animation workshops where participants learn how to create their own animated shorts at home.
Suitable for beginners, participants will learn how to animate with step-by-step instructions from experienced tutors. Various techniques such as hand-drawn, claymation, legomation, and paper cut-out stop motion will be demonstrated.
Hosted on Zoom, the workshops will also make use of Irish language sayings, and folklore will be explored and encouraged through image, sound, and speech bubbles.
The workshops will run on May 1st, May 8th, and May 23rd, and the final animations will be shown in a premiere online screening on June 12th, as part of Cruinniú na nÓg. A prize of €100 will also be awarded that night to the winner of Best Animated Short.
