  • Workshop

In preparation for Cruinniú na nÓg South Dublin 2024 Rua Red have been working with a group of young people who were referred for an in-depth creative exploration of addiction and recovery from JADD (Jobstown Assisting Drug Dependency)

The young people are making a filmic response to their experience of addiction in their community. The video and editing workshops are being facilitated by Elton Mullally from South Paw productions. The young people are being guided in storyboarding, filming and editing by Elton with the final edit being completed for a screening on 15th June at 3pm in the Performance Space in Rua Red.

Families, friends, peers and JADD support workers will be invited to the screening which will also be open to the public. Rua Red are currently working closely with Pat Clifford from JADD, Senator Lynn Ruane and Cllr. Mick Duff who we will be invited to say a few words at the launch. Prior to the launch, there will be a walkaround tour of Rua Red’s current exhibition ‘ Templates of Chance’ by Brognon Rollin. The work that the young people have made is in response to the current commission/exhibition which is based around addiction and recovery.
