Athlone Family Resource Centre invite children, young people and families to join artist Patsy Preston for a collaborative lantern making workshop inspired by the River Shannon.

During 2024, Athlone Family Resource Centre in collaboration with artists Patsy Preston, Tara Mulvihill, and Ginni Mills will engage the community to create a collaborative arts Street Spectacle for the Feile na Sionanne and Viking River Festivals. 

In preparation for this August festival, the young people of Athlone are being invited to develop their own lanterns this Cruinniú na nÓg. 

The workshop will take place on Saturday 15th June and is suitable for all ages. Booking is required, however this event is free of charge.  Contact coordinator@afrc.ie or 085 842 3738. 

Come along and have a go and help us create beautiful props for our Street Spectacle Parade.
