‘Bee our guest’- A bug hotel making workshop for children facilitated by artist Mimi Seery.

  • Workshop

Join local artist Mimi Seery in building ‘hotels’ for bees and other pollinators expected to visit the newly established Historical Garden at Athlone Castle.

Athlone Castle will be a hive of activity this Summer with all the bees and butterflies expected to visit our new wildflower meadow and garden. To get ready for their arrival, we are inviting children to join artist Mimi Seery for a Bug Hotel-making workshop.

Using natural and recycled materials, each child will build a pollinator-friendly hotel that will suit even the pickiest of bugs. Children will have the option of taking their finished hotel home or placing it in Athlone Castle Garden.

This fun and educational workshop will help children learn about climate change and actively engage in preventing the decrease in the population of pollinators.

This workshop will be suitable for children aged 8-18.

This workshop is free but online booking is essential, as places will be limited.
