Behind the Mask – Gaiety School of Acting

  • Performance

Behind the Mask will introduce 30 young people to the Manifesto Method of theatre creation that was established in the Gaiety School of Acting in 2009.

In the four weeks running up to Cruinniú na nÓg, GSA facilitators will work with local children in Ozanam House in Mountjoy Square for two hours a week developing their short 1-2 minute pieces.

The resulting pieces will then be performed live in front of an audience in the Black Box Theatre in the GSA.

This programme will enable the participants to harness their inner creativity, to create a meaningful expression of their thoughts and emotions, empowering each of them to tell their unique story, and to communicate what is at the heart of what matters to them.

Under the assured and supportive oversight of professional practitioners, the Behind the Mask project places the young person’s voice at the centre of the creativity practice.

The performance is at 7.30pm on 11 June. Tickets are free but places are limited so booking is essential.
