Behind the Scenes – Developing Lullaby Leaf

  • Performance

Ceol Connected present this short film that captures the first research and development phase of Lullaby Leaf, a new immersive, inclusive and highly participatory piece for children with Down syndrome, under their new Sensory SongTales strand.

The film will be showcased on the Cavan Monaghan Creative YouTube channel on 11 June at 11am.

Inspired by LEAF which Ceol Connected developed in 2019 as theatre company in residence at Draíocht Arts Centre, Lullaby Leaf brings together a new team of musicians, theatremakers, visual artists, and other creatives. Three research and development phases will take place before Lullaby Leaf embarks on a four-county tour in October/November 2022, visiting Monaghan, Cavan, Louth and Meath. During each phase, the Ceol Connected team will consult with children and their families to ensure that what they create connects with the needs and interests of their young audiences.

Ceol Connected has a wonderfully talented artistic and creative team on board to develop and present Lullaby Leaf. Their team includes Joanna Williams (director/facilitator), Thomas Johnston (musical director), Orla Kelly (artist/facilitator), Seanan Brennan (artist/facilitator), Niamh McCormick (artist/facilitator), Tara Dunne (artist/facilitator), Claire Crehan (artist/facilitator), Brioni Gallagher (creative producer) and Lisa Mahony (production manager).
