Cave Art at The Glucksman

  • Performance

This year for Cruinniú na nÓg, the Glucksman team invite you to journey with us into the Cave of Art to create exciting artworks inspired by prehistoric drawings. Taking inspiration from our current exhibition, Hollow Earth: Art, Caves and The Subterranean Imaginary, children will have the opportunity to work on creative activities in our dimly lighted workshop room.

The earliest known artworks were drawn and painted onto the walls of caves more than 40,000 years ago! In this fun, imaginative workshop, we will figure out who made these drawings and what they looked like. Under the guidance of our talented facilitators, children will use pencils, crayons, and pastels to create large collaborative cave drawings.

Young people are invited to tell stories, create characters and design their own artworks in two hands-on workshops:

Workshop 1: 11am to 12pm for 5 to 8 year olds – book here.

Workshop 2: 2pm to 3pm for 8 to 12 year olds – book here

Alternatively, to reserve your place, you may contact the Glucksman on 021 4901844.
