Children’s World of Colour

  • Workshop

Children’s World of Colour is a creative artistic concept which explains how we are all linked together.

Art is what you see, imagine, remember, and feel. It is a place where nothing is right or wrong. Children yearn to work together in a creative manner with each other regardless of culture, class, or creed. This will be perfectly illustrated by this event, which will take place in special purpose rooms which form part of the Michael Davitt Museum complex in the village of Straide.

A series of three hour-and-a-half art classes will be organised. We anticipate that bookings will transpire for approximately 60 children. Subsequently, the children will be grouped according to age, and on that basis they will be allocated a class and start time.

Prior to the commencement of the art classes, a folklorist will engage in 15-20min sessions with each group. The theme will be regarding local folklore and how we are all linked together. The traditional skills and ancient ways of our forefathers will be discussed.

This event is free but booking is required. Class capacity is 20 children each.
