Collage Hands with Brid Colloton

  • Workshop

Let’s show our hands some love and gratitude for all the wonderful things they can do!

Artist Brid Colloton will show you how to create a collage piece with hands and discover all the things our hands help us do. We can get our hands talking with some Lámh signs too!

Materials needed:

  • Cut or torn pieces of coloured paper, textured paper, old packaging (some packaging has shiny gold or silver foil on the inside), old books, or even old paintings. In magazines look for pictures of hands or things hands do. You can also bring along pictures of things you like to do with your hands to show us, though this is not essential.
  • Cut up pieces of fabrics and wool (optional)
  • Glue: either pritt stick or PVA (this will need an old brush and container)
  • A piece of card like an old cereal box
  • Pastels or crayons
  • Your hands!

Finished work will be showcased through a virtual exhibition opening for the participants on Cruinniú na nÓg at 2pm. Link to follow.

This is one of four workshops being organised by the Wexford Arts Centre between May 8th and May 29th. You can book your place in the workshop here.
