ComiCork Launch

  • Workshop

ComiCork uses comics as a tool to reflect on multiculturalism and Irish contemporary society. The product of an ongoing collaboration between researchers at UCC, Cork Community Art Link and comic artists, it is part of a broader project that also involves final-year students of Italian at UCC and comic artists in Italy. Funded by the Irish Research Council, ComiCork entailed a series of workshops in which Transition Year students discussed the themes of multiculturalism and belonging while learning comic-making techniques.

On June 15th at The City Library, two comics created by TY students in Cork will be launched. Discussion with students and guests around what it means to grow up in an increasingly multicultural Irish society follows the launch. All are Welcome.
