Craft Village for Cruinniú na nÓg
The National Design and Craft Gallery will host a Mini Craft Village for the Cruinniú na nÓg celebrations at the Castle Yard, Kilkenny, to showcase Ireland’s cultural craft heritage, celebrating contemporary makers of traditional crafts.
Drawing on the Design & Craft Council of Ireland’s 60 membership organisations, including Guilds, Associations, Networks and Societies, the event will involve craft makers demonstrating and teaching their craft techniques and processes to children and young people.
The Mini Craft Village is a tented area where children and young people will experience traditional crafts through free, hands on drop-in workshops and live demonstrations. Activities include paper flower making, textile screen-printing, pottery making, a design doodle area and more. Workshop activities will last approximately 30 minutes.
This is a free, ticketed event.
