Creative Writing Competition

  • Workshop

Wicklow Arts Office understands that a lot of young people around the county are isolating at home, not able to meet up with friends or participate in their usual creative activities. Normally Cruinniú na nÓg allows us to gather and create in parks, libraries, schools, theatres, woodlands and heritage sites.  This year in light of the Covid-19 pandemic this is not possible.  So, Wicklow Arts Office are delighted to ask you to create together yet apart this year for Cruinniú.  We want you (within your 5km radius of home) and with some assistance from parents or guardians to show us your creative ability and share it with the county.

Sarah is the Family and Schools Programmer for ILFDublin (International Literature Festival Dublin) and works with MoLI (Museum of Literature Ireland) on their family events. She also runs creative writing clubs for children and reviews children’s books for The Irish Independent.

We want you to write a short story, poem or create a comic strip as part of our Cruinniú na nÓg #CreativeIreland Wicklow competitions for 2020.  Sarah has themed the competition Wild in Wicklow!  Are animals taking over your 5km?  Closing date June 2nd click on the link below to enter.
