Discover your creative spark through writing! This seven-week course is suitable for children age 8 to 11 and will allow them to explore different elements of creative writing. They may come up with the inspiration for their stories on their own or discover it through the process of responding to prompts, museum artefacts, and more.
Each week, we will focus on a different element of creative writing. We will use the first week to explore prompts and ideas and delve into the many inspirations that can be found right in front of us each day.
The remaining six weeks will explore a variety of topics, including character creation, setting, dialogue, different writing styles, story structure, how to tackle writers block, and more.
The course is facilitated by Allanah Scully, who has has been teaching creative writing and drama since 2015.
