Creative Young Neighbourhoods is a process-led pilot by Cork City Council to coincide with Cruinniú na nÓg 2022.
The programme advocates the voice of young people by supporting members of youth groups to play an active role in their creative experiences.
In partnership with creative organisations, the groups will each organise a ‘get to know you’ event to take place for Cruinniú na nÓg 2022.
Following this, they plan a set of creative activities that take place in the organisations venue or in the neighbourhood of the youth group, connecting each with the other.
Please note, this initiative is for youth service members only and not the general public.
– Foróige Bishopstown Youth Project will tour Triskel Arts Centre. The tour will include an introduction to the work of Triskel and its partners in the delivery of public events, including programming for Cork Traveller Pride Week. Participants will meet and brainstorm ideas for a storytelling project with community development workers at Cork Traveller Visibility Group and Cork Traveller Women’s Network.
– Foróige Mahon Youth Project will enjoy a hands on introductory film taster using cameras facilitated by Frameworks Films after which they will discuss a possible film project together.
-The members of CDYS Up Cork Youth Project are looking forward to meeting multi-disciplinary artist Andrea Williams who has exhibited and performed at St Peters previously. Together, they will discuss the group’s recent work
