Cruinniú na nÓg Late

  • Programme of events

For the first time, the programme will include a series of late night events for young people.

In support of a commitment in the Programme for Government, the Night-Time Economy (NTE) Taskforce was established in July 2020 by Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin.

Two workshops were held in September 2022 for young people in partnership with the Department of Children, Equality, Diversity, Integration and Youth (D/CEDIY). The focus groups offered a platform for young people to share their views on the Night-Time Economy and provided them with an opportunity to provide very real, tangible suggestions on how to improve the Night-Time Economy for young people.

As part of Cruinniu na nÓg 2024, the Creative Ireland Programme has provided funding to Local Authorities to run Night Time Economy based events for Cruinniú na nÓg 2024.

Cruinniú Late includes a play created and performed within 24 hours in the crypt of the Waterford Museum, a Rocky Horror Picture Show screening and dance off in Limerick, silent discos in Dun Laoghaire and Offaly, and an open mic night at the comedy club in South Dublin.
