Drawing and Monoprint
4 Temple Bar
This is a workshop exploring drawing and the dynamic and versatile process of monoprinting in a professional artist print studio setting.
The workshop will revolve primarily around the processes of printmaking as a medium, but will use drawing as the initial format in the image development.
Beginning with an exploration of the work of selected modern and contemporary artists, students will be exposed to a wide range of process-driven practices and ways in which contemporary artists engage and react to their own specific subject matter through line, tone, colour, gesture, environmental awareness of space and alternative concepts of drawing and mark making.
This preliminary drawing-based research will be integrated into a series of printmaking processes, and will ultimately be developed into a series of finished prints.
There are two sessions on the day: 10:00 – 12:00 and 14:00 – 16:00.
