EVA – Exploring our Weather through sound, line and colour

  • Workshop

Calling all those Ennis Voices for Autism (EVA) creative tweens & teens between the ages of 8 and 14. Come to our free workshop to create sounds, patterns and rhythms inspired by Ireland’s 4 Seasons in One Day

The workshop is facilitated by visual artist Evelyn Sorohan & sound artist Slavek Kwi, both experienced collaborators with young artists with Autism. Using natural weather sound stimuli you will be invited to create with Ice Inks, make unique sounds using unusual instruments, & create rhythms & waves using a mixed-media approach. The workshop will end with parents or friends being invited to enjoy a short performance by you, your 8 youth artists & the two professional artists.

The goal of the workshop is to support you to create in novel, playful & unusual ways using creative sensory methods you haven’t tried before. The inspiration will come from our weather & your natural response to these organic weather sounds.

We have a sensory room available if you need a break during the workshop & we will have a twenty-minute break for refreshments & a chat halfway through the session. Please feel free to bring an instrument or art media that can support your creativity. You can choose to work alone or with a group. You might like to ring Evelyn ahead of time if you have any special requirements. EVA offers ten places for this workshop & experience.
