Showing teenagers the basics of mobile phone film making, this crash course aims to unlock their creativity by giving them the know how to make no budget short films from home, and focusing on some basics of storytelling as well some recording and editing techniques.
Participants will be encouraged to use what is in their environment to tell simple stories.
All the kids will need to make their films is access to a smartphone and their imagination.
How it works
The workshop will be split into three sections, each a maximum length of 20 minutes.
Start, middle and end
A short introduction to storytelling – how to tell a story.
Lights, camera and action
A guide to shooting your first film – how to capture your story.
Cut, copy and paste
A look at editing – piecing together the story.
The workshop will very much function as a taste of film making. Furthermore, in-depth resources will be provided for those who want to continue past the workshop.
