Gone Fishing

  • Workshop

Tap into the feeling of summertime holidays with Gone Fishing, a series of workshops at Linenhall Arts Centre that celebrate Mayo’s waterways.

Choose from:

Fly & Fish – 10am (ages 4-8)

Using a variety of paper textures, feathers and washable paints, children will create expressive artwork inspired by angling flies and fish.

Colour my World – 11am (ages 10-16)

An introduction to abstract painting with a twist. Participants will find inspiration in the rivers of Mayo and use glow-in-the-dark paint to make their final pieces shine.

Artwork from this workshop will be displayed in the black box auditorium during our all-ages concert.

Our Castlebar River: a Concertina Book Workshop – 2.30pm (ages 8-11)

This workshop will explore our knowledge and experiences of Castlebar’s rivers and lakes. How much do we really know about our waterways? Where do they start and where do they end? What plants and animals do we find there? Children will create concertina books to record their experience in words and pictures.

Michael Moloney in Concert – 6pm (all ages)

We finish the day on a high note with an all-ages concert featuring Ballina singer-songwriter Michael Moloney. To make an accessibility booking for this standing concert, contact the Box Office on boxoffice@thelinenhall.com or phone 094-9023733.

Please respect age guidelines when booking.
