Gordon Bennett Meets Local Link is a devised drama piece looking at transport in rural Ireland, the needs of young people and the importance of the Gordon Bennett Vintage Rally to Ballitore village.
The devised piece will have two key elements, a piece set in 1903, the day the race came to town and a piece which will highlight the lack of transport and the need for improved bus services. The new route recently set up has been of great value as young members can travel to drama classes from Narraghmore and Calverstown.
This project will build on last year’s performance connecting the young people to their community and raising the status of Greise Youth Theatre in the area.
