Vast experience and knowledge can be found in the Irish language and folklore with regard to edible plants and edible seaweeds on the top shore and in the seas along the coast of Connemara.
Learn all about foraging, harvesting and preparing edible plants and seaweeds that can be found all along the Connemara coast via three online workshops.
We will teach you how to forage in a safe and sustainable way:
3 plants from the sea: Dilisk; Carrageen and Sea Spagetti (Rosach)
3 plants from the top shore: Sea Kale (Cabáiste na Mara), Sea Radish (Meacán Mara, Ruphanus Raphanist rum), Sea Beet (laíon na Trá, Beta Vurgaris)
There is no need to register, all three workshops will be available on our Facebook and YouTube channels with one video per day posted on Monday the 8th, Tuesday the 9th and Wednesday the 10th of June.
All workshops will remain online until after the 13th of June, the day of Cruinniú na nÓg.
