Heritage in Schools Song Competition for Primary School Children

This is a song competition specifically for schools and the pupils who arrange to partake in it, with the winning school performing for Cruinniú na nÓg.

Schools looking to take part in the competition will be visited by Heritage in Schools expert Áine Brosnan, who will take participating children on a field trip to a historic site in their area.

The children will then be broken into groups to write an ode each. A video will be recorded of each and judged by John Spillane, who will then visit the winning school.

The aim of this event is to take children on a journey to deepen their engagement and sense of pride in their locality and to unleash their creativity.

The winning song will be performed live by the school especially for Cruinniú na nÓg.

Full details of the winning school and performance time provided in due course.
