Hold

  • Performance

Hold is a collaboration between visual artist and early years specialist Lucy Hill, and fashion designer Orla Langan.

The project was funded by an Exploring and Thinking Early Years Bursary award from Dublin County Council arts offices and Cruinniú na nÓg 2024.

Lucy and Orla have had a lot of fun designing and making tactile, wearable artworks for children and their adults to enjoy exploring together. Each piece was designed for a different body part, but there are no rules as to how to wear or play with them.

Everyone is welcome to see the exhibition in Ballyroan Library from 27th May-15th June.

On 15th June Lucy will hold a workshop where children will play with and try on the pieces in the exhibition.

There will also be opportunities to try some design drawing, imagining what new wearable pieces we might add to the collection. We will also explore some simple sewing practice, working with paper and wool to create patterns to take home.

The workshop is suitable for children from ages 3-6 years.

The waitlist is available for the 2pm session at the link below.
