This Covid-safe touring production of King Lear is aimed at school students and travels to schools across Dublin with ‘Festival in a Van’. The initiative is supported by Creative Ireland and was created in 2020 as a response to the Covid crisis.
An old man has three children. He also happens to have an entire kingdom. He’s tired, he wants a rest, but how to divide up the spoils? Let’s just say he doesn’t choose well. Leading director, Conor Hanratty has created a unique Covid-safe event, to bring key scenes from the play alive with moments for discussion as part of the plan. Why on earth doesn’t Cordelia just say I love you?
Featuring Arthur Riordan, Karen McCartney and Matthew Malone.
Tickets can only be booked directly with participating schools only. Unfortunately, these events are not open to the general public due to Covid-19 restrictions.
