Join us on our Cavan Monaghan YouTube channel on Saturday 11th June at 10.30am to see how the children ‘created together’ in the a number of previous workshops.
A number of workshops will also take place on Sunday 12th June at 10am in Carrickmacross Workhouse for children 8-12 years.
This workshop will engage children aged 8-12 years inspired by Indonesian stilt houses, log and stilt climbing frames, to make their own personal climbing frames. They will produce a decorative 3D composition or sculpture out of bamboo sticks, wire, ribbons, etc.
The workshop commences with an inspirational session where the participants are shown examples from nature, architecture, folklore, and artefacts. They will find out about their functions, forms, decoration, usage, history, evolution which will help them to understand the objective of the workshop.
Participants will be encouraged to use their imagination using various materials provided to them to build their own creation. We will put all creations together to form an exhibition and discuss the outcomes.
