Paper Craft Illustration Workshop at Abbeyleix Heritage House

Workshop

Heritage House will host a paper craft illustration workshop for 10 to 14 year olds.
This year’s workshop theme will be based on the Rock of Dunamaise and the group will make a layered image of the old fort. For safety each layer will be pre-cut at Heritage House so there will be no need for the young people taking part to handle sharp knives. This will also help us to fit the workshop in with scheduled events elsewhere in Abbeyleix. The timeframe for the workshop will be 2 hours, running from 10 am to 12pm on the Saturday of the event.

For materials we’re going to use glue sticks and card stock, but we might splash a few pieces of card stock with acrylic paint to break up the solid colours of the other sheets. We will use foam core or card to keep each layer lifted and this in turn will help to add depth to the image. The images will be mounted on A4 paper, suitable to be framed when we are finished. While the image will be based on The Rock of Dunamaise, the techniques can be applied to any image.
