Print and Sew a Tote Bag in Fingal Makerspace

  • Workshop

Discover the joy of creativity and craftsmanship in our immersive hands-on workshop! This engaging session will guide learners through the exciting process of designing, printing, and machine sewing their very own unique tote bag.

What you need to bring:

Just yourself!

Workshop Overview:

In this fun-filled workshop, learners get to explore their artistic talents using traditional block printing techniques. We provide an extensive collection of Indian wood blocks and a variety of water-based dyes, giving learners many possibilities to create personalised designs on 100% cotton fabric.

What You’ll Learn:

Design and Printing: Under the guidance of experienced instructors, learners will be introduced to the art of block printing.

Sewing Machine Basics: Gain confidence in using a sewing machine as you learn essential skills such as threading the machine, loading a bobbin, and sewing simple seams.

Fabric Assembly: Once your fabric is beautifully printed, you will cut and sew the pieces together to construct your tote bag.

Key Benefits:

Creative Expression: Express your individuality through unique designs and personal touches on your tote bag.

Skill Development: Acquire valuable skills in both printing and sewing that can be used for future projects and hobbies.

Functional Art: Walk away with a custom-made tote bag that is both a piece of art and a practical accessory.
