Print Making for Teens: Summer Camp with Aidan Byrne

  • Workshop

This workshop is designed to engage young adults in a process of exploring their creativity in a playful and relaxed atmosphere.

Introducing participants to the basics of printmaking using Styrofoam printing blocks, we’ll build confidence and hone our problem-solving skills with intuitive drawing exercises. Creating an opportunity for socialising using collaborative games, as the project progresses participants will be guided to develop a collection of prints based on their chosen individual themes.

Each participant will receive a printmaking kit including Styrofoam print blocks, ink roller, selection of inks, embossing stick, ink-rolling tray, printing paper, sample designs, pencil and sketchbook.

This kit must be collected from Tullamore Library via our Contact & Collect service prior to the event.

These workshops will be carried out via Zoom. Tutor Aidan has a multi-camera Zoom set-up to facilitate direct face-to-face contact alongside practical demonstrations.

Booking is essential via this Eventbrite link.

This course is a summer camp workshop for Crúinniu na nÓg which will take place over four days. The finished prints will displayed in a Facebook slideshow on Offaly Libraries Facebook page at 3pm on Saturday 12th June.
