Join art educator Andrea McCorry, from Gorey School of Art, for a fun and imaginative workshop demonstrating relief printing techniques. Relief printing, in art printmaking, is a process consisting of cutting or etching a printing surface in such a way that all that remains of the original surface is the design to be printed.
For this workshop, Andrea will be using common recycled materials from the home, limiting the expense or necessity to source specialist materials. This workshop is aimed at children 10-13 years of age but could suit younger children with adult assistance.
Materials required: Pencil, paint or ink, whichever is available, cardboard from a cereal box, scissors, glue, cut up sponge or roller.
This video is one of five visual art workshops, which have been designed and produced by Gorey School of Art and Periphery Space as part of Wexford’s contribution to Cruinniú na nÓg 2020
This series of visual art workshops will be available all day on Saturday 13th June starting from 8.00am at https://periphery.space/cruinniu-na-nog
