Join Professor Peter Redmond for a fun, interactive two-hour robotics workshops, suitable for ages 10–14.
Peter is an inventor, engineer, scientist and robotics guru. His career spans the fields of real science and the world of TV and movies.
In science fiction, Peter has consulted on or created amazing special effects and props for movies and TV such as Top Gear, Robot Wars, Scrapheap Challenge, Vikings, Winx, Big Life Fix, Four Kids and It and many more.
In real science research, he has created award-winning robots, patented avionics aircraft systems and lectured 3D Machine Vision and Augmented Reality at Trinity College Dublin. He is currently researching blended human/robotics control in DCU and Maynooth University.
The workshop will cover:
An introduction to micro-controllers, motors, sensors, and other building parts
Making of basic robots
Perform a challenge – maze navigation
