Traditional singer Aileen Lambert has a great song to share with you called ‘Rory Óg Mac Rory’ which particularly suits children age 8 – 12 but all ages can enjoy! It’s a happy story about a couple called Rory and Nell, with a beautiful traditional air and catchy chorus. For ease of learning Aileen breaks the song down line by line and follows it with a sing-through complete with subtitles for ease of singing, so the whole family can sing along. Aileen is accompanied here by her daughter Nellie (age 10). 

Aileen Lambert delivers traditional song workshops in schools with the Heritage in Schools Scheme and Music Generation sharing songs with all ages from Junior Infants to 6th class. She is currently working along with her husband Michael Fortune on the ‘Songs for Our Children’ Project, with support from Local Authorities, Galway 2020 and the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance.
