Artist and large-scale mural creator Ciarán Dunlevy will oversee a project with Club Óige Tuatha Dé Dannan and volunteers from Pobail Le Chéile CDP.
Together, they will bring mythical magic and wonderful stories to the walls and gardens of Ionad Garradh Cholmcille in Falcarragh Co Donegal. Mural workshops will be facilitated by Ciarán on June 9 and 10, where participants of all skill levels can learn about mural creation and creative techniques celebrating Irish culture and folklore.
Workshop 1 – Saturday 10th June
Mural theme & ideas brainstorm with entire group (mural examples, mural layout, mural sections, stencil designs)
Mural sections allocated to groups
Final mural layout on wall.
Workshop 2 – Sunday 11th June
Morning – Group 1 & 2 – mural painting
Afternoon – Group 3 & 4 – mural painting
Mural launch
There will be a public unveiling with young musicians from the area. This will provide an opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate their heritage and creativity, and enjoy the artistic work of Ciarán Dunlevy, Club Óige Tuatha Dé Dannan and the volunteers.
The event promises to be an immersive and exciting experience that showcases the talents of our local young people and the beauty and magic of Irish culture.
