Sculptunes – Interactive Musical Sculptural Installations for Early Years

  • Workshop

Sculptunes is a series of interactive installations that are designed with and for early years children.

Visual artist Helen Barry fine-tunes these designs to build multisensory structures that invite the early years child to explore music, colour, texture, visual dexterity, sounds, and sound-making through actions and movement.

The Sculptunes interactive exhibition will be sited in the National Concert Hall to support their under-5s programme. The pieces, individually titled with names connected to the sea, will invite both child and adult to push, pump, and play as they explore how to create sounds.

The original concept for Sculptunes was designed by visual artist Helen Barry and musician Eamon Sweeny in response to the four Local Authorities International Early Arts commissions and The Arts Council. Helen would also like to thank the National Concert Hall for supporting Sculptunes
