Shakespeare? Yawn Yawn

  • Workshop

Using a series of fun exercises, theatre director, acting teacher and former actor James O’Donnell will help young people understand and perform Shakespeare in an unstuffy, non-competitive environment.

These in-person workshops with students across Cavan and Monaghan will help break down the preconceptions of what young people think Shakespeare is (and that it isn’t as alien as they think it is) and to enjoy playing with language and respond imaginatively to it.

The workshops will help them to understand the enormous possibilities that Shakespeare’s plays offer us for self-development and self-exploration. The sessions will be practical, interactive, fun and accessible. Initial workshops will be facilitated in secondary schools during the month of May. 

On Cruinniú day, an online demonstration workshop will take place with James on our Cavan Monaghan Creative Youth YouTube channel at 12pm for all young people to tune into!
