Short Filmmaking ‘Do you know what the sea is able to do?

Create a contemporary short film on June 8th & screen on June 15th, using props/landscape CGI and movement to portray the magic and mystery that lies under the sea.

The piece will be based on the poem ‘Do you know what the sea is able to do? A poem written for children by Pat Ingoldsby an Irish poet, play-wright and much-loved TV presenter. This workshop is to facilitate, direct and teach the children 9-12 years, to explore and tell the story by using Props/Movement/Sounds , camera techniques, and CGI-Green Screen.

Each child will get to experiment with all parts of the creative process. The performance will be filmed on June 8th to be screened on June 15th, the date of Cruinniú na nÓg, on the Creative Ireland Clare Facebook page. 

The June 8th workshop will cover the following:

  • Creative thinking
  • Acting to camera
  • Using Props to express Poem story
  • Camera Operations
  • Directing
  • Sounds
  • Lighting
  • CGI Green Screen
