Six Days

Six Days is a programme of workshops and performances that will happen over a period of six days at The North Mayo Heritage Centre, Crossmolina. This programme aims to allow children access to professional arts practitioners, giving them an opportunity to experience both the preparation and delivery of a professional cultural event.

Working with a team of professional performers and technicians, children will have the opportunity to learn about stage craft, production values and how to put on a performance. There will be a maximum number of 50 places available to attend each workshop/performance with each participant receiving 20 hours of FREE tuition and opportunities to learn.

Thursday 19th May at 4pm – Workshop (4 hours) – Learn how a performance is put on and delivered.

Friday 20th May at 8pm – Performance of Six Days by Frank Shouldice

Tuesday 24th May; Workshop (3 hours) Learn the stories of Irish Mythology and how to tell them (Storytelling through prose)

Tuesday 31st May; Workshop (3 hours) Learn songs that relate to Irish mythology

Tuesday 7th June ; Workshop (3 hours) Learn Irish tunes that celebrate our Irish music traditions.

Saturday 11th June (4 hours) Day 6; Performance of prose, song and music in the NMHC Conference Centre with full professional staging and complimentary tickets for the community. Spaces are limited, so booking is required.
