An Slua Sí - Music and Folklore
The history and stories of our landscape told through folklore and traditional music performances inspired by the Irish Folklore Music Commission. Sean-Nós interpreter and composer, Lorcán Mac Mathúna, has searched through The Irish Folklore Commission’s School Collection; collected between 1937 and 39, for material which is reflected in the traditional repertoire.
In consultation with traditional storyteller, Seosamh Ó Mhaolalaí, he has put together a presentation of stories and song reflective of Dublin 80 years ago and will share them with children of Dublin today through two bilingual performances of music and storytelling.
