Inspired by the voices of young children, their likes and wishes, as outlined in First Five Report on the National Consultation with Young Children, the Linenhall Arts Centre is launching a series of short, 3- to 5-minute video prompts for young children and their families, to support them in their creativity across music, visual art, and dance. There will be four videos per art form, all available on May 25th.
The video prompts draw on the things that children like and encourage the whole family to get involved. They are designed as inspirational jumping off points, rather than how-to tutorials, really encouraging children and their families to be creative in their own way.
The videos will be broadcast on the Linenhall Arts Centre’s social media channels and website in the weeks before Cruinniú na nÓg. Families are invited to share their creative outcomes with us in the form of images, audio recordings, and videos, for an online presentation on June 12th (the video prompts will also be available on June 12th for continued engagement). The videos will cover the following themes:
Linenhall Arts Centre
- Creative exploration of nature and the garden through dance and movement
- Exploring ways to create visual art inspired by your toys
- Encouraging children to explore the sounds of objects in their home, including their toys, and to get creative making soundscapes with their family using found sounds from around the house
