Stones and Stories

  • Workshop

Come along on an interactive storytelling adventure and create your very own Ciaróg stones to bring with you!

Stones and Stories is an interactive stone-painting and storytelling workshop. It will be delivered by the Ciaróg Eile team: Teddy Duggan (age 9), who is a winner of This is Art, the RTÉ and Creative Ireland art competition; and his mum, drama and spoken-word facilitator Paula Mongey.

This project is a great opportunity for 6- to 10-year-olds to paint and chat alongside their adults. It is fully participatory and open to children of all abilities. The workshop is tactile, immersive, and sensory.

Ciaróg Eile comes from the old Irish seanfhocal Aithníonn Ciaróg, Ciaróg Eile, which literally translated means “one beetle recognises another beetle” or “like sees like”—we see and recognise ourselves in each other.

Everybody taking part in Stones and Stories will be posted a toolkit containing instructions, paints, stones, and brushes prior to the workshop. Booking is essential and will be open from May 4th through May 31st. Places are limited.
