Tan Ann… a Portrait of Wild Wisdoms by Nóta Stóta

  • Screening

Once upon a time…

Tan Ann is an old Irish expression for ‘Once upon a time’ and this series of short films seeks to recreate the magical places where our world meets the supernatural through a blend of puppetry, art, music and landscape.

It is said that ‘this world is only three feet from the Otherworld and in thin places is even less’.  Let’s journey over the threshold to explore these ‘thin’ or magic places through art and storytelling based on Irish folklore and mythology.

This special event features the world premiere of these magical short films which were developed last year in Ennis arts centre Glór. The films will be introduced by Nóta Stóta and their puppets!

Nóta Stóta is a group comprising renowned traditional musicians Conal Ó Gráda (flute, whistle, mouth organ) and Benny McCarthy (accordion, mouth organ) alongside inimitable puppeteer Des Dillon.

This event is free but booking is essential. Go to glor.ie or click below.
