The Artistic Journey

  • Workshop

“The Artistic Journey” initiative aims to provide comprehensive support and resources to young people who demonstrate a keen interest in creative disciplines such as visual arts, performing arts, literature, music, and design.

“The Ethnic Minority Hub” will collaborate with a diverse group of young people, including those from migrant communities in Longford, to nurture their talents, encourage their participation in extracurricular activities, and support their integration into Irish society. To effectively engage with seldom-heard children and young people, we will employ creative and alternative communication methods. This includes utilizing art, music, drama, and digital media as tools for self-expression and communication. The program will consist of four workshop sessions covering music instrument practice, drawing/painting, dancing, DJ workshops, as well as poetry and storytelling in the Irish language.

On the 15th of June, there will be showcases for the Longford community to enjoy, featuring cultural music performances, art displays, cultural food tastings, and games organized by the young participants.
