The Hero’s Journey: A Book Making Workshop

  • Workshop

Many great stories contain a story arch/pattern that some call “The Hero’s Journey”. In this workshop you will hear about the great epic tale of Odysseus, a hero who meets gods and monsters, who travels across the sea and under it (into the underworld!) before finally reaching home.

You will use this famous tale to create a concertina book and draw an epic of your own.

Materials required for each workshop:

  • paper (A4 white or any colour and card is fine too)
  • a glue stick/Pritt stick or sellotape
  • something to draw with

This is an invitation only event targeting local schools. This live workshop will be held via Zoom.

We at Offaly Libraries are really looking forward to Cruinniú na nÓg this year. This year all our events will be online and we will be posting great ideas for how you can get involved here or keep an eye out for updates on our Facebook page.

Check out Offaly Libraries Facebook page and Offaly Libraries Website for details of how to enter this competition.
