The Science of Ice Cream Making with Anyone 4 Science

  • Workshop

In this video for Kildare’s Cruinniú na nÓg, children and their families will learn about the history of ice cream and how it was enjoyed 2,000 years ago by the Romans. For most of us, making ice cream without an electrically operated freezer is unimaginable. But, 1750 years before the discovery of electricity, those amazing Romans could do it.

At this workshop, all will be revealed. Then, using regular household items, you will be able to make your own freezer, test it by making a batch of ice cream, and most importantly enjoy eating your ice cream.

Although aimed at children, there is something in this activity for everyone.
