Youth Centre Twinning – Cruinniú na nÓg Shared Island Project

  • Performance

As part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2024 Dublin City Council are partnering with Prime Cut Productions to present Youth Centre Twinning, a project which is part of the new Creative Ireland Shared Island initiative. As part of this program of meetings four youth centres in Dublin will twin with four youth centres in Belfast to bridge the gap between these two cities and their next generations.

On 25th May a group of 12 Belfast youths will visit Dublin for a short film making workshop before stepping out onto the streets of Dublin to explore and document their experiences and viewpoints. Following this 12 young people from Dublin will visit Belfast on 1st May to create their own documentary of the city after taking part in their own film making workshop.

The two groups will finally come together on 15th June in Belfast City’s MAC Theatre to share the results of their experiences, watching one another’s films before taking part in a day of creative workshops exploring active citizenship, urban renewal and cultural exchange.

This will be the first step in what we hope to be a longer term collaboration between North and South.

Both films will premiere publically online on 15th June as part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2024.
