Youth Theatre Ireland presents, Youth Theatre Island!
Youth Theatre Ireland are excited to be a strategic partner over the next 3 years with Creative Ireland for Cruinniú na nÓg – in partnership with Theatre and Dance NI, each year they will bring Youth Theatres from across the island of Ireland together to perform plays that have been written by and for young performers.
Over the past few months, 20 youth theatres across the island have been creating, writing, designing, directing, and rehearsing to showcase their talents on June 7th , Cruinniú na nÓg, 2025.
On the day, these youth theatres will meet at 5 different venues to take part in a fun workshop together and perform plays that they have devised themselves or have come from Youth Theatre Ireland’s Playshare collection. Each performance will last around one hour and will feature 4 Youth Theatres performing for 10-15 minutes each.
The age range for these performances is 12+ and is a great chance to see what Youth Theatre is all about!
After each performance at every venue, there will be a Youth Theatre taster workshop
for any young person aged 12-18 who is currently not in a Youth Theatre or involved in
the creative arts. It will be an hour-long workshop run by an expert facilitator who will
engage everyone in their own sense of play, help them to make new friends, and
introduce them to drama games specifically designed for them!
Youth Theatre gives young people a safe space to express themselves, be heard, be
who they are, make new friends, and most importantly have fun!
