Supported by RTÉ and your Local Authority, this vibrant day of youthful participation celebrates and encourages children and young people to get hands on with culture and creativity in countless ways.
Creativity will be in plentiful supply in Cavan. Head to Ramor Theatre, Virgina, for an exhibition of ceramics made by primary school students, as well as a theatre and music performance form young local talents. In Cavan Town, Johnston Central Library will host a workshop helping students from Ballyhaise National School creatively analyse history and literature. At the same venue, see an exhibition of art works by the students of Saint Felim’s National School’s Speech and Language Unit, who have creatively interpreted their memories.
Up in Donegal, watch Buncrana’s talent unfold at a showcase performance from young people who’ve been attending unique songwriting workshops. In Letterkenny, get fashion-forward and design your own t-shirt – explore the sketching, colouring and decorating process and then wear your creation with pride! In glorious Glenveagh National Park, watch out for the stars of An Grianán Youth Theatre as they bring Alice in Wonderland and many more Lewis Carroll’s characters to life.
In Monaghan Shopping Centre, get ready for Comhairle na nÓg’s flash mob as it springs to life! Who knows exactly where or when, come out and get ready for a dancing surprise! In Clones Library, fire up those imaginations with an interactive unicorn and dragon creative craft workshop; or at Monaghan County Museum, get to grips with 3D graffiti and create your own masterpiece!
